5K Hero Training Program

Heritage Christian Services is pleased to, in partnership with Running With Kelly, provide a 5K Hero Training program to prepare you to run a 5K!

5K Hero Training begins Tuesday, June 22, but participants may join until July 12. Participants will join weekly Zoom meetings to review the workouts and ask questions. Group in-person workouts will be scheduled for Tuesdays and Saturdays when allowed by New York state.

Our 5K Hero Training program works because it is a mix of running and walking to gradually increase your fitness level and build up your stamina. Participants in the 5K Hero Training Program receive:

  • A 12-week training program that will help you get off the couch and be ready to complete a 5K, led by Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) certified running coach Kelly Nash, owner of Running With Kelly ($110 value)
  • Heritage Hero 5K registration (a $35 value)
  • Access to a private, 5K Hero Training Facebook page with daily workout reminders
  • Four Facebook live workshops on sports nutrition, stretching and yoga, strength training for runners and race strategies for live and virtual events
  • 5K Hero Training t-shirt
  • Finishers certificate

Come stretch your running legs in a safe, encouraging and motivating atmosphere, experience camaraderie with others working toward a goal of increased health and wellbeing, and enjoy access to a certified (and incredibly passionate) running coach. You’ll receive tips, tricks and motivational support, and have a whole lot of fun, too!

Upon receipt of your 5K Hero Training  registration,  you will receive information including the training schedule, group workout dates and group runs information.
