As we welcome the Compass team for our validation visit this month, it’s a chance to reflect on what makes Heritage Christian Services truly stand out. Quality isn’t just about policies; it’s about compassion, empathy and transformational relationships.

Transformational relationships begin with deep curiosity and a willingness to go beyond surface-level interactions to truly understand someone’s heart, values and lived experience. They grow through thoughtful questions, listening without agenda and making daily investments that build trust and mutual respect. It takes work, but once we get there, it’s something we must continue to nurture every day.

What if a team isn’t there yet? Start by asking: What relationships need investment? How can we help people feel seen, heard and valued? What small steps can we take to create space for honest dialogue and connection?
