In his current role, he assists the self-direction team in managing over 200 New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities housing subsidies in the Finger Lakes region. Well versed in OPWDD guidance, he has supported numerous people to successfully apply for the OPWDD Housing Subsidy and Transition Stipend. Betsy Brugg, Partner, Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP Betsy practices estate planning and advises families regarding the legal issues related to family members with special needs. She represents clients in several practice areas, including real estate development and transactions, business and estate planning. She was instrumental in the launch of the Affordable Housing and Community Development Practice Group. Seth Greenman, Co-Director of the New York Housing Resource Center, a project of the New York Alliance for Inclusion and Innovation, Inc. Seth Greenman is the co-director of the NYHRC and lead faculty for the Housing Navigator Course. He serves as a consultant for the New York Alliance for Inclusion and Innovation and the project director for the Housing Resources for Independent Living grant, leading the redesign of the NYHRC from 2023 to 2027. He also worked as the master housing navigator in OPWDD Region 1 (Western New York & Finger Lakes) from 2019 to 2022. As New York Alliance’s point-person for the region, Seth led the planning process for people to successfully navigate from certified housing to independent living arrangements while supporting capacity building within the regional housing collaborative. Prior to his work with the New York Alliance, Seth worked in various capacities with Heritage Christian Services from 2006 to 2019, including as a direct support professional, residential manager and fiscal intermediary. With more than 20 years of experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, he seeks to ensure people have access to good information to get the support they need no matter where they are in their housing journey. Seth is also the co-owner and lead housing navigator at Avenue Green Consulting & Services, LLC, where he provides consultation services for those interested in developing a housing plan and pursuing the goal of living in their own place.
