Every role in our organization comes with responsibility. Think about that: Each one of us, and every colleague we encounter, carries a significant amount of responsibility every single day. The truth is, staff members at every level are called upon to solve tough problems. And for many of us, the hardest elements of our work are often the things we can’t delegate. That’s not a burden, it’s an opportunity.

We face complex challenges, and how we show up in those moments matters. We can see them as obstacles, or we can embrace them as chances to influence outcomes that matter deeply to the people we serve, their families and to each other.

That’s why I check in with teams across regions and programs. Not to prescribe solutions, but to ask: What’s your current plan? How can we support it? What else do you need to succeed?

Our obligation is to keep building our resiliency, our muscle for tackling adversity. We are called, again, to be an organization that consistently puts others first and commits to continuous improvement. That is both an incredible opportunity and a profound obligation. Together, we can approach any obstacle with resolve and optimism.
