Empathy: The Heart of Quality at Every Interaction Home > Blog > Empathy: The Heart of Quality at Every Interaction A A A Share on Social Media facebook linkedinBy: Marisa Geitner Empathy is the ability to feel what it’s like to be in someone else’s shoes. Compassion is the desire to help. At Heritage Christian Services, compassion is one of our core values – defined as open hearts, dignity and respect for others and ourselves – and empathy is what brings that value to life. As an empath, I often feel deeply on behalf of other people, which can feel heavy at times. However, compassion gives purpose to those feelings. I often think, “How can I contribute to needed change?” That question drives me and so many people who work in caring professions to act with intention. We use what we feel to create steps forward, question the status quo and improve outcomes. When we lead and serve with empathy, we build connection. We come alongside people, experience their perspectives and discover how to support them in meaningful ways. Empathy leads to compassionate action, fostering an environment where people are focused on a quality experience with every interaction. Share on Social Media facebook linkedin
