At Heritage Christian Services we value our employees and strive to find ways to continuously recognize one another for the outstanding work being done each and every day. It is important to us that we celebrate our employees.

Employee Recognition Options

Milestone Celebration– A celebration hosted once a year to recognize employees celebrating a milestone anniversary in an increment of five. Employees will receive an anniversary pin celebrating each milestone year in increments of five (5, 10, 15 etc.).

Anniversary Bonus– Full-time employees receive a bonus after the completion of each milestone anniversary in increments of five years. The amount is equal to one week’s pay, and is not to exceed $500.

High FiveThe Heritage High Five is designed to publicly acknowledge employees for the work they do. Recognition is given from peers for demonstrating HCS values and dedication to the mission and people who choose services. Employees can access the platform from a shortcut on the desktop of any HCS computer.

High Five Drawings– Employees who have received and/or written a high five throughout the year are entered into a drawing. A few are picked at random and given a small cash bonus.

Refer & Earn Program–  Refer & Earn is our refreshed and updated bonus program for recommending people to work with us. When you tell someone there’s a job for them at Heritage Christian Services, you’ll get a financial reward after hire.

How it works:

  • When they apply, make sure they say that you referred them.
  • After they’ve completed their interview, you’ll receive a gift card.
  • After they’ve worked three months full-time, or 75 hours for part-time/relief positions, you’ll get paid!

Rewards for direct support and nurses: $400 full-time, $200 part-time

Rewards for other positions: $100 full-time, $50 part-time
(CDPAP and self-hire positions not included.)

Wedding Gifts-Heritage Christian Services provides a financial blessing to any current employee who is getting married. Their supervisor must submit the employee’s name and wedding date to the payroll and benefits team.

Baby Blankets-Heritage Christian Services will gift a baby blanket embroidered with the child’s name and date of birth to current employees to honor the birth of that child. Their supervisor must submit a request to the main office receptionist.

Holiday Luncheon-Heritage Christian Services hosts an annual luncheon at the end of the year to fellowship and celebrate with all current employees. It is an opportunity to meet new people and reconnect with colleagues who employees might not see day-to-day. High Five drawings and specific awards are given at this time.

Graduation Gifts-Heritage Christian supports all staff in their personal and professional development. HCS provides a financial blessing in honor of an employee graduating from high school or college. Supervisors can submit employee name, date of graduation and degree to Ann Meyer, director of workforce and talent development.

DSP Recognition Week-This is a week-long celebration in recognition of the dedication and accomplishments of outstanding Direct Support Professionals and their vital contribution to communities across the country. Heritage Christian Services celebrates DSPs throughout the week in many different ways. Supervisors are encouraged to recognize and celebrate DSPs in their own unique way specific to each site. This takes place in September.

Awards (Spirit of Excellence, Amy Marie Tessoni, Peter and Jobina Bruinsma (education), Jobina Bruinsma Memorial, Paul Hanson and Eunice Hanson Excellence in Nursing, Anne Wolf Memorial Award) –Employees are encouraged to nominate a fellow colleague who demonstrates the values outlined in each award. The awards are presented throughout various times of the year.

Verbal Recognition /Acknowledgement – Taking the time to speak with your colleagues and acknowledge them. Saying thank you with since gratitude.
