Coming Together for 40 Years of Services

What a joy it is to be part of Heritage Christian Services in the year of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the first home the agency supported. We recently celebrated 40 years of service at the Retro Rewind dinner dance, which brought together the people we support, the staff who walk alongside them, their families and the community partners who sustain us.

We continue to celebrate the vision of our founding families and the accomplishments of our staff while recognizing why we continue to grow 40 years later.

First is the increasing demand for diverse services. Over 130,000 people in New York state rely on the kinds of services we provide. These include providing accessible and familiar housing, engaging day habilitation and affordable child care, supporting someone’s individual wellbeing, providing fun and engaging respite, and so much more. The number of people needing these services is only expected to grow.

The second reason for our sustained growth is community engagement. I am thrilled at how passionately businesses, fellow nonprofits and individual community members have embraced and supported our mission. There are far too many examples of the fruits of these partnerships to mention in this blog, but with their support, we have been able to push deeper into the community, reach more people and connect with future prospective donors.
